Zhang Zixin, Secretary of Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose, presented his report of Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose in Action

Mr. Zhang's report is divided into three parts.

Firstly, Green development trend of the textile industry
He reviewed previous criticism and views on brand owners in textile industry and thought that Sustainable textile industry requests sustainable feedstock supply; high-quality and differential fibers motivate textile industry growth; How to arrange and master supply chain channels is a key topic of brand promotion.

Secondly, Development status of cellulose fiber industry
In 2017, MIIT put forward Guidelines for Viscose Fiber Industry (2017 version) and related policies, indicating the industry was being regulated. Downstream products were viewed as “dirty fashion” as they were produced in polluted supply chain. Recycled cellulose staple fiber capacity expands rapidly and is centered on Xinjiang and middle-east China. Industry effect on the environment still sustains. The government puts larger environmental protection pressure on the industry. Downstream brand owners are active to promote the industrial chain transparent and green affected by various aspects.

Thirdly, 3-year action plan of Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose

The Collaboration for Sustainable Development of Viscose (CV) offers viscose producers a platform to achieve sustainable viscose to reduce the effects on environment brought by production and cycle of regenerated cellulose fiber. It will explore and push forward the mode of sustainable development by building and practicing Road Map (3-year action plan).

The main missions of CV are to collect industrial information, screen criteria and third-party certification and integrate the industrial chain. There are three core components of the CV Roadmap-Raw material sourcing, manufacturing process and product quality.

Continuous improvement is a core feature of the CV Roadmap design. Beyond the initial standards and best practices set which requires time to be mainstreamed, the CV roadmap is intended as a living document which will be subjected to periodic reviews and updated as conditions warrant.

At last, he made an outlook for sustainable development of viscose industry.
